Social media and relationships

The rate at which marriages end, people divorce and relationships break makes me wonder why. Sometimes I just don't gerrit how you can be feeling all the love in your heart for only one person, and then you wake up one day feeling absolutely nothing. Or the reverse! People say true love never dies but I think otherwise. I think it does.
Being in love is a wonderful feeling, being married, well - is a different feeling. Relationships these days are even becoming harder because people expect a bit too much from them. Stupid girls think their boyfriends should act like their ATMs, stupid boys think they should go around making out with every Joan, Mary and Susan.

And social media takes it to a whole new level. When your boo sees you online on that chat list and you don't say hi, it may be a problem. When you like another person's pic, it may also be a problem. Personally, I can never trust a girl with 4000 Facebook friends.. I mean what's that?? You're not Beyonce or Rihanna! What do you need all those for? Same applies to when she's on Facebook, twitter, instagram, twoo, badoo, pinterest, tumbr, Google+, WhatsApp, viber, skype, etc!!! Seriously?????
One thing is true.. If you're 'friends' with your boo on any social network and they never stalk you, admit it buddy, that person ain't yours! Maybe they're busy stalking somebody else.
On the plus side though, some people have got their problems solved on social media, and others have managed to get loyal partners. And there's no doubt social media has brought about many faults in other people's relationships.

I think our grandparents stayed together simply because they didn't have 1000 other people following them or liking their pics at their disposal when their relationships or marriages got hard.
Nowadays, when our relationships hit the rocks, we can just login, lament all about our pain & heart breaks, attack the other person, our imaginary 'friends' jump in and we get high off of this false sense of security and appreciation. We value our worth based on comments and inbox messages filled with colourful words that have no depth.
Meanwhile, the person who loves you when there's no filter on your face becomes an option or worse gets deleted and the rest of the world who just see your representative/or photoshopped profile picture and some half nudes becomes priority.

We are losing what's real trying to chase behind what only appears to be.
